Professor John Turner MBE of the British Antarctic Survey:

Antarctica: a Treasury of Climate Data

With ten seasons in Antarctica and 30 years with the British Antarctic Survey, Professor John Turner is the perfect guide to reveal the information that is being extracted from Antarctic ice cores relating to past climate events, aerosols and volcanic eruptions. The ice sheet not only yields core samples but is also a potential contributor to sea level rises and therefore of major significance to the future of the planet.

Saturday 25th March 2017 at 4.30pm in the Amey Theatre, Abingdon School
