Abbey Cinema ATOM Screening: Apollo 13

 

As part of #Apollo50 and ATOM, Abingdon's Abbey Cinema will be screening the critically-acclaimed Apollo 13. Directed by Ron Howard and starring Tom Hanks, Kevin Bacon, Bill Paxton, Gary Sinise, and Ed Harris, it dramatizes the aborted Apollo 13 lunar mission in 1970, when an on-board explosion deprived the crew of most of its oxygen supply and electric power, resulting in a battle to save the crew and bring them home. A tour-de-force in terms of its technical accuracy, nail-biting conclusion and immortalising the words "Houston, we have a problem".
