Abingdon sits at the heart of science, and between Culham, Harwell, Oxford and the many science and technology parks around Abingdon there are huge numbers of opportunities to chose a career in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).
Even if you think ‘science is not for you’ you would be amazed at the opportunities that exist either to choose STEM as a career, retrain to get a new dream job – or simply reframe your existing skills and experience, even if you are not a scientist or engineer.
One thing is for sure – there is a shortage of people who want to work in STEM –so the ATOM Science Festival has teamed up with Larkmead School, to offer a STEM-focused area within a special Career’s Fair at Larkmead School. It’s free to attend, you’ll get a chance to meeting lots of companies from all walks of employment – and talk to helpful people who can give you ideas, hints and tips on how to pursue a dream job at the frontiers of science.
Come along, and (potentially) change your direction in life!
