Michael Peagram regards himself as a “son of Harwell”, His father George worked at AERE 1946-84 and they lived on site. He was at school and university in Oxford studying chemistry. His career was in management in the Chemical and Pharmaceutical industries. He was awarded the Industrial medal of the Royal Society of Chemistry and lectured on "the challenges of a career in industry”.
He returned to Oxford in 1994 and his other involvements include Council member of the SAID Business School, council of the Royal Institution and Chairman of governors Magdalen College School, Oxford.
