ATOM at Harwell Campus: Tour of Dosimetry Labs at UKHSA.

The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) has a Personal Dosimetry Service which has been in existence for over 50 years and is backed by a wealth of scientific knowledge and experience in radiation protection. Please come and join the visit to our Dosimetry Laboratories on the Harwell Campus to learn more about our service and how we supply our clients. Our Personal Dosimetry Service is the largest in the UK and helps employers to monitor their staff for exposure to radiation. We help 5,500 employers in the UK and overseas by supplying personal dosemeters to 90,000 radiation workers to measure their exposure for legal or reassurance purposes. The tour will visit our Thermoluminescent, neutron and radon services laboratories to show you how the dosemeters are prepared, issued and assessed for our clients.

Numbers for this tour are limited so please do not delay booking as the system will cut off ticket purchases when capacity is reached. Please do not book unless you know that you can bring with you original, physical piece of photo ID (such as a passport or driving licence).

The tour starts at 12.45 on Harwell Campus, giving participants a chance to join the Harwell Heritage Tour beforehand and stop at the LIghtBox Cafe for a coffee or a light lunch. Please buy tickets for both tours if you plan to do this. We will muster at the end of the rest-stop in Quad 1 at 12.35 ready to walk across to UKHSA.
Those arriving to do the UKHSA Tour only should park in the Lumen House Car Park (OX11 0SG via Fermi Avenue and Eighth) and arrive at UKHSA Reception for 12.45
